Ektek - Who will save the animals?

EKTEK

Creative and well-written ~ Review by Lucidity
"EKTEK" is by far one of the most unique, original and interesting reads I have came across over the past few months. I am glad to come across an author that isn't afraid to think outside of the box and try something new that I personally consider to be far from the norm and the mainstream. Of course, for an imaginative and creative story to be done justice it must also have a strong plot structure and foundation - and in that regard, I'd say that Victoria Osborne has really pulled it off as the story progresses in a very smooth, fluid, and complete manner. I do think that some of the characters would have benefited from some more detail and better dialogue but other than that, I'd consider EKTEK to be worth the read.

"Who ever heard of a frog flying a plane? Or a wallaby riding a trike? EKTEK #Animals #Activists

Book Description:

What if endangered animals decided they could no longer wait patiently for their own extinction?

What if they formed a secret group of resistance activists based in a zoo called Bedlam?

EKTEK like to think of themselves as an ace team of environmental warriors (ecology/technology). The truth is more surreal. Who ever heard of a frog flying a plane? Or a wallaby riding a trike? Or a Palm cockatoo piloting a wingship? Or a space ship powered by bombardier beetle juice?

Ektek by V M Osborne
Ektek activists insist on their right to survive, their right to quality of life and their right to liberty. How far will they go? How far can they go? How can they improve their conflict resolution skills?

Guest article by Avril Herbert

Hello my name is Rusty I am a large seventy five pound Akita Chow mix dog. I remember my days as a little cute seven pound puppy everybody thought I was so adorable people would stop to say hello and wanted to stroke me and times where good, sadly as I got older people became afraid of me for no reason because of my breeds but there was always one thing I could count on my loving family and a forever home.

I will take you on my life journey from when I was a newborn puppy with my mother and siblings to my last days with my family and I will share with you how the actions of all humans help shape our behavior.

I will share with you some off my favorite places to visit as dogs we always love new adventures but as I look back I think of some of the memories that didn’t make it into my story such as my family trying to train me to carry the mail or bring them my leash before a walk. As I sit here thinking of these things I’m sitting with my paw over my face shaking my head and thinking Oh wow how that training did not go to well for starters I ended my getting doggie slobber over the mail, so they got wet mail.

Animals are sent to humans for a reason and many people have forgotten why. Maybe this is why so many pets end up at shelters. Do we find you or do you find us? If you are someone who has forgotten why then the answers will be in my story. I am extremely blessed that my mother can see the world through my eyes, listen to me and tell my story for me and hopefully it may just help one of my four legged friends from being taken to a shelter.

At the end of my story make sure to read the note from my mother she will let you know how blessed she feels and talks about her own thoughts from being a mother to us to how we discriminate dogs for being certain breeds.

I will say goodbye and leave you for now but I hope to be seeing you all soon reading my story.

Love from your four legged pal

Creative educational book ~ Review by Chloe Morrison

What I love most about this book is the ingenious way the author created the characters. I read this story to my 4 year old daughter and I couldn't help to notice how interested she was in discovering the Plaid Family.

I believe this book emphasis the strong father-son relationship and their struggles to reach a common point in their lives. It's a colorful story that concludes with an important lesson our kids can learn.

My daughter specifically enjoyed the illustrations and I think they did a great job boosting her imagination. I'm very pleased the author planted the idea of forgiveness in her mind in such a sweet way.

I strongly recommend this book if you wish to teach your children about responsibilities and how honesty is one of the most important traits they need to develop.

The Plaid Family Adventure Series is a new children's series created by father/daughter team Michelle Tomars (Author) and John Tomars (Illustrator). The setting is a fictional town in northwoods Wisconsin called "Plaidville" where guess what....all of the residents wear plaid! Featured in the stories are one special family-The Plaid Family and let’s just say, life is never dull on the Plaid Family Farm-especially during the winter months!

Each story is told from a different Plaid Family member’s point of view and features an adventure with an animal (based on real animals from our own family ranch, and real experiences with that animal as the basis for each adventure.) Each conflict resolves by the end in some type of growth for the main character.

Though the stories contain some fantastical elements that make them appealing to children, at the heart of each story is the honest portrayal of family, animals, small town values, and all the challenges that go along with living through a bitter, snowy winter in the Northwood’s.

Children's Book: Funny bedtime story featuring Bunnies

Bunny Donny and Michelle's Camp Performance

This children’s book is for bedtime reading for ages 3-7, as well as independent reading for ages 6-7 years. Review below lets parents in on the story ahead of time.

Review by A. Prosper - Charming Story With a Great Messages of Support and Confidence

This is a charming story featuring adorable characters that you can share with boys or girls with great confidence. I loved the bunny characters, and the illustrations are delightful and really well done, with each character having a lot of personality and warmth. I loved it that the siblings have great interactions where they are supportive of each other and working together, as that's great modeling that my own children need now and then! Both parents are shown as involved and supportive too.

The central plot is that the bunnies feel shy about what to perform at a camp performance, but they prevail because they asked their mom who guided them practically and emotionally to take on the challenge with confidence backed with a lot of practice. Beautiful concept that children need to hear, and it's all done gently and full of the fun energy of showtime.

It's also fun that the book includes their song lyrics as part of the story, so you can make up a tune to sing those lines as you read if you want for a fun read aloud experience. In all, a great story your children will love having and you'll enjoy reading.
