A little Siren

A little Siren
A little Siren (on sale for 99 cents)
Sexy fairy tales for adults! ~ Review by K. Allen TOP 1000 REVIEWER
The 2nd book to a great sexy series. This book can be a standalone but you get more out of it if you read the first. Very well written and filled with great scenes. Its a fun sexy twist on an adult fairy tale and is both creative and a blast to read. A real page turner and worth your time for sure. Highly recommended. Very sexy and great tension and suspense!
Book Description:

The King of Denkered has searched the seas for three years, in his quest to reach the mercreature who saved him from a ship wreck, but he gives up, tired of chasing a dream.

"One day. One day after he convinced himself to propose to an unsuitable, unrefined, unliked, conniving girl, he found the woman he'd been looking for."

Contrarily to what one would assume, Silvia isn't masochistic, so when they meet again, she has no intention to waste her time on the yummy piece of man she'd saved three years ago.

He may have been the object of every single one of her fantasies, but he's taken. Women who manage to get a man to forget his attachment get what they deserve: a cheating ass.

End of story, right?
----
A little Siren is the second book of Not Quite the Fairy Tale, and although they are standalones, they are meant to be read in order as the characters interact.

Beware of strong language and adult situations, although this is no non-stop erotica.
A little Siren was a great story, the second in the series ` Review by Romance LoverA little Siren was a great story, the second in the series. I was totally surprised multiple times. I love love love Seb and the part he plays. Eric really irritated me - in a good way - over and over, so much I wanted to climb into the story and knock some sense into him.
Silvia was a strong, courageous woman, I was in awe of her many times. She didn't take crap from anyone, even from Eric, the hot sexy man. Her attitude in the first book gave me pause, I wasn't sure I'd like her, but I actually liked this story even more than the last!
I loved to hate Vanessa, she was the perfect villain!

I also enjoyed catching up with Cinderella and Dane from the last book!
The end was great, well thought out and I can't wait until the next one.

The Romantic

Tragic Love Story Your First Love never forgotten "The Romantic" a great read ~ Review by David Swainbank

A wonderful tragic love story. Characters who are so real, I thought I knew them. I felt myself becoming involved in the story and wishing I could warn the characters so that they could change their ways. Some great lines from the story. "For the heart will be tested during the journey of life, and if it is true, it will find the one person it is meant to love." "In essence, life is a buffet and love is the main course." Professor Aziz. The author Felix has a wonderful way with words. He pulls out all the emotional stops and goes straight for the heart.

"His ignorance proved fatal to their future, because a man cannot truly love a woman until he gets to know her first"

I really enjoyed this story and wished there had been a different ending. Will look for more from this gifted author.

Some great turns and twists kept this story moving until the end.

Wonderful sexy romance collection ~

Review by Sam G TOP 1000 REVIEWER

I am a huge fan of paranormal romance, and this sexy romance collection definitely fits the bill. This collection has just enough to satisfy and made me want to read way more from Hart.

The characters feel real, but it's not all sweetness: the sex scenes are about as steamy and indulgent as they come. Hart writes them expertly and doesn't take you out of the moment for a second. I'm going to be snagging the rest of her library post haste, based on my amazing experience with this bundle.

Breaking My Heart

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000040_00005]

Amazon  Kobo  Barnes & Noble  iTunes

I wasn't sure what to think of this book starting out. It almost seemed like the typical early 20s couple book. I couldn't have been more wrong, and am so glad I gave this book a chance!!! Kade and Roxy click almost immediately, and it's an emotional rollercoaster from there. Kade unknowingly helps Roxy grow up and see that life can be great without certain items in it. My heart ached for some of what Roxy went through with Kade (and there were many moments I wanted to jump in the book to strangle him). Very well written, Aleya Michelle drew me in from the first page and I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to see what path Roxy takes in future books. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great romance read. ~ sferguson105

Book Description:

Roxy is a fighter, she is strong and independent. She knows exactly what she wants and is not afraid to go after it, especially when it comes to men. He makes her question everything she ever thought she knew about life, men and herself.

With a past that keeps holding her back will Kade be able to break down her walls? Will he be able to prove to Roxy that everything she thinks she knows about men is wrong, or will he prove her right?

Affairs & Atonement

Affairs Atonement

From the very on-set, Ashton isn't the perfect hero. He makes mistakes. He regrets them. He works on amending them. ~ Author Clarissa Cartharn (read more about this novel from Clarissa Cartharn on her blog doodlenook.blogspot.com.au)
Before I share the enticing book description, I wish to say that I have noticed that people either love or hate this book and I think I know why. It seems to me that this novel evokes deep emotions in people. If someone had an experience that dug up old wounds then I can see why they may have an adverse reaction. It’s not about whether the book is good or not, they are taking what the characters have done – “personally”. This fact alone made me buy the book! I want to see what all the fuss is about.

Affairs & Atonement ~ Book Description:

The end of an affair, the beginning of atonement… why ever did love hurt like hell?

He married her at eighteen and then she disappeared hours into their marriage.
That was eleven years ago and Ashton Pryor was certain he was over Christy Huntley. He had moved on. He got engaged.

But old ties have to be severed first before new ones can be made. Now he needed to find Christy more than ever. He needed to divorce her to marry Naomi Landon.

But when you hunt someone for as long as he had done, can you really say you’re over her?

REVIEW BY K. BENNETT

“It hurts, she put a palm over her heart. It hurts so much.”

You bet it did! I was in such an emotional point at this stage of the book, I was literally tearing up as I read on. As you might have guessed from that short quote, this book is one hell of an emotional roller-coaster ride.

First of all, the cover is absolutely beautiful. You can already see the angst on it. And once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. I loved how the author could touch me so emotionally. I was angry, laughing, hurting at one time or the other.

We meet Christy and Ashton as teenagers and like most teens, they make mistakes which they regret later as adults. Ashton re-enters Christy’s life eleven years later so he can atone for the hurt he had caused her in their teen years. Of course, he still loves her. But he struggles internally to leave his high-flying life as an advertising executive to lead a more humble one with Christy. I love that he just didn’t give up his job because he’s oh-so love in Christy. I suppose I would have been annoyed if he had. I enjoyed the emotional struggles he went through to make his decision.

This is a very true to life romance. Ashton is a hero who can be all Alpha but at the same time he is flawed. He isn’t perfect. But you can see he tries and does his best for Christy and that is redeemable. I found myself all gooey over the banters he had with Christy as he works hard in trying to win her affection back. But he does more than that. He makes an effort to also charm the people in her life and he certainly charmed his way into my heart. When I was angry or frustrated with him, it was only because I cared. This is a real man.

As for Christy, you know she still loves him. But the woman does make him work damned hard for hurting her so much. She is a great character and very real. She doesn’t simply hop into bed with Ashton at very first sight. You can see she is struggling against her choice of falling in love with Ashton again.

The author has a great style of writing and it almost felt as if I was watching a movie. She certainly has a way with dialogues and descriptions that make you feel you are right there with the characters.
Overall, highly recommended. A great read.

She Likes It Rough

Guest Article by GVR Corcillo
She Likes It Rough

She Likes It Rough
    by GVR Corcillo
    319 pages, 94,000 words
chick lit, romantic comedy, contemporary romance
Can daring adventures with an adrenaline junkie help a daydreaming scaredy-cat urbanite find the backbone she needs in order to start living to the fullest so she can make her average life finally count for something?

EXCERPT:
Six months ago, I woke up rich, famous, and thin. Every woman’s dream, right?
Believe me, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Not by a long shot. If it were, I wouldn’t be speed hiking up a mountain in what’s left of my Dolce and Gabbana power suit. Chasing a man I don’t know, no less.
I wish he would slow down! What was I thinking, following Jack Hawkins into the woods?

 *****

GVR Corcillo’s Ivy League education, white-trash sensibility, and pop culture savvy come together rather eclectically in her romantic comedies. She writes about strong female characters who try not to trip as they valiantly march to their own bongo beat.

Corcillo hit the New York Times Best Sellers List with her short story, "Jane Austen Meets the New York Giants," in the Marlo Thomas anthology The Right Words at the Right Time: Volume 2. Her short story "All Summer on a Date" was chosen as the lead story in the 2012 anthology Romancing the PagesShe Likes It Rough is her debut novel soon to be followed by Queen of the Universe.

Originally from Scranton, PA, she lives with her husband Ron Corcillo in North Hollywood, CA, where she delves into all things Los Angeles: she’s co-hosted a syndicated radio show, acted in an award-winning short film, written a screenplay for Roger Corman's Concorde Pictures, picketed during the 2007 Hollywood writers strike, and taught high school in Watts and South Central. And while she loves her life on the west coast, she’s still a die-hard New York Giants fan.

*****

She Likes It Rough tells the zany story of how one woman decides to wrangle with an adrenaline junkie in hopes of finding her own inner core of strength. But will the moxie she finds out in the wild with Jack translate into her real world? Will she have the courage to stand up to her bullying family or to pursue the career she really wants?
And will she get gutsy enough to go after Jack? He's a man who's not afraid of anything...except maybe of falling for Lisa.

What people are saying about She Likes It Rough:
“Quirky, heartfelt, and thoroughly entertaining!”
—David McWhirter, director, TNT's The Closer and Major Crimes

“Loved it! Corcillo has a great voice. Reads like a fun romantic comedy movie.”
Mindy Neff, best-selling author

"There's a fine line," author Oscar Levant once said, "between genius and insanity." In this fascinating first novel by GVR Corcillo, the heroine Lisa Flyte traverses that line in a high wire balancing act of breathtaking gracelessness...If you're looking for a book that will make you laugh, think, feel and cringe (mightily at times), snatch this one up. A definite wild ride of a story from beginning to end.”
Ally Papier, Amazon review

EXCERPT:
“Interesting,” Jack says. “Your first reaction to intense fear is to strip.” He nods thoughtfully. “Good to know.”
“That's it?” I ask. “That's your reaction, to make a joke? Your whole staff is going to think I'm your booty call. Don't you care?”
He slides me a look, then grabs a duffle off a shelf. “No one is going to think that.”
“Why?” I challenge. “Am I so out of your league? Would the idea be too preposterous to anyone who knows you?”
He stops and looks at me.
“Lisa, I don’t have sex in the office. It’s not a rule, exactly, but I just never do. And I don’t encourage it among my staff. But if it will make you feel better, I’ll tell Peg how crazy hot I think you are.” He starts to fill the duffle with stuff but I’m barely paying attention.
“You’re making fun of me.”
“That’s because you’re whacko.” He zips the bag. “Let’s go.” He brushes past me on his way to the door.
“Jack,” I say. “This deal is never going to work if you get mad at me every time I ask a question or make a suggestion.”
“I’m not mad.”
“Then why are you so edgy?”
He turns to me, his hand on the doorknob.
“Because I hope to God I’m doing the right thing.”
“Why?” I ask. “What are you doing?”
“I’m taking you on your first adventure.”
