Dani: Throwaway Child

Dani Throwaway Child

Dani: Throwaway Child:

The True Story of Dani's Journey from Abuse to Freedom

Warning: This book is intended for an Adult Audience

Powerful book ~ Review by Artist
This was a very serious topic for me. I cried my way through a lot of it. Feeling so helpless and being a child and Dani being such a brave strong little girl. This book was very emotional for me, if you are a sensitive person be forewarned. Once you start reading you have to finish the story to find out what happens to Dani. I am very glad that Dani is doing well now but this saga of her life is heart wrenching. I like how this book gives you perspective on how to discuss and talk to people who might have been in similar situations from a religious perspective.

The information in this book is powerful and can be very helpful to someone who has been in an abusive situation. This is the kind of book you have trouble putting down and going to bed because you want to know what happens and you have to keep reading to find out. After reading some before bed I would be thinking about what I read and half the time not get enough sleep because I would be pondering possible outcomes.

The face that there are such evil people around us that could be like this evolved in our every day lives scares me. This book brings awareness to the situation and I'm thankful for that and I am more likely to notice any signs of possible abuse now.

She found someone who could help her unlock the mystery behind the nightmares #abuse  #awareness

Book Description:
Dani was experiencing horrible nightmares and didn't know what they meant. Almost at the point of giving up she turned to her minister and found someone who could help her unlock the mystery behind the nightmares. Together they piece together Dani's hidden past until they come to one horrible realization . . . she was still in danger.

This book is beautifully written in a manner that relates to Christianity and the purpose of life. A good guidance to religion and faith. Changed my view totally about god's love. ~ Review by charice

Guest article by Pamela Santiago

Journey of A Thousand Miles is about Thomas’ life journey during the death of Sarah and his baby Abigail. It will challenge our view of the purpose of our life on earth, people who haven’t grow in true grace and unprepared for the greatest things from God.

Life is like a thick door in one’s path, a door that recedes before us as we advance. No one will ever know what is beyond that door. We can only know step by step by opening one door at a time. We never know what the future holds. We can never know what events a single day may bring in our life.

These events sometimes fill us with happiness and success and sometimes beyond that door we may find unexpected and undesired events. All of us go through each door in our life and anxious to open the next one.

In our entire life, every day we take a step and continue to walk. Many of us don’t realize that in each door that we open God is standing there to walk with us but sadly very often we walk pass by him and pretend not to notice him.

So don’t despise the little steps you know you can take every day. There are tiny miracles in each and every one of them.

Five Stars ~ Loved this. A new perspective that is refreshing and enjoyable. Easy reading as well. ~ Review by acaputo

In the Age of Anhedonia ~ Book Description

What happens when a person's pleasure center in the brain ceases to function due to mental, emotional, physical, situational, or social strains and challenges?

These highly emotionally charged short stories signify the current age of the numbing of society. The author delves deep into each character's psyche, spiritual prowess, and desire to feel pleasure and contentment again.

Through a message of encouragement and faith, in each story, the reader will be inspired to reach out to God for fulfillment and hope.

The Second Greatest Story

Book_Cover

"I don't have a family tree. It's more like a bunch of shrubbery all joined together." - Doug Riggle

Your Testimony: The Second Greatest Story Ever Told is definitely for people who love the bible. Even if you do not, this is worth looking at because of the verses used, and questions asked to really get you looking into your life. Finding out what your story is that needs to be told. I like what the author says in the introduction –

“Whether you have a minute in line at the grocery store or a twenty-minute drive with a friend, you have time to tell your story.” (Kindle Locations 20-21)

Book Description:

Learn to share your personal testimony with others. Don't worry about memorizing bible verses or trying to understand various diagrams for sharing your faith. Learn to tell the second greatest story every told -- your story! See what an impact you'll have in the lives of friends, families and those you come into contact with as you share your unique testimony.

Review by alkrist ~ Write your OWN story

This was a great tool for looking inward. reassessing your own life, morals & values.everyone should try this. It's amazing.

What Douglas says about his book:

The book is based on a class I've taught at my Church and to a few bible studies over the years. And now I'm scheduled to teach the same class a few more times. While it doesn't excuse the believer from reading and memorizing the Word of God, it takes some of the pressure off. Everyone has a unique story to tell of redemption... everyone needs redemption. This bible study will walk you through a process to help you develop and tell your own story!

Douglas RiggleDouglas Riggle is a nonprofit leader, orphan advocate, story teller, speaker. He pulled at my heart strings. Read below (as written website http://www.dougriggle.com/)

“In his 30s he adopted his son, Richie, who was 13 at the time. They had a great nine years ago. Tragically, Richie took his own life at age 22. Doug now considers the 210+ million orphans and at-risk children around the globe as his. He soon realized that being a father isn't something you can turn off.”

Christmas Stories for Children

Christmas Stories for Children

Another way to welcome in Christmas and get children excited is to read them stories. Take a look at the Christmas Tree!

I did not notice at first but the words on the ornaments are the actual names of the chapters. Or better said, the messages contained within the book. This is not a picture book. There are 7 stories to teach children Christmas values.

 Christmas Values

 Excerpt - (Kindle Location 41)
Catherine would listen to her father say, “God gives gifts to all of his children. To some he gives wealth, and to some he gives family, but to all he gives peace and joy."
Let us peek inside the book - The first story is about a young girl who goes over to her friends house to play. This friend just happens to come from a very rich family and has a beautiful big bedroom full of toys. Catherine wants to know why life is so unfair. Her father explains to her that it isn't unfair.

“Well,” her father said, “we all get the same important gifts, like love and joy and faith.” (Kindle Locations 71-72) Catherine's father continues on by explaining what faith is.

What is faith? I like the definition from the World English Dictionary that says this - Faith is the strong or unshakable belief in something especially without proof or evidence. However, this other definition listed fits best with this story - Christianity, trust in God and in his actions and promises.
