Vampires Witches and Wizards

The Seeker

The Seeker: Five Book Box Set

I received this series as an arc for a honest review. If you love suspense, vampires, serial killer mysteries and hot sex all rolled into one you will love this 5 book series. The complete love story of Ember and Angel are in this series. I loved the characters, Ember is being stalked by a serial killer but she refuses to curl up and hide as she is afraid he will target her friends and family. She is a strong character and her new neighbor Angelo sounds super hot, and the sex was explosive. You won't go wrong with this series.

Book Description: Ember Wells knows the meaning of terror. A reporter by day, her nights are spent hiding from a serial killer known as The Seeker. He's stalked her for a year, terrorizing her through the lens of a camera.

Excerpt of review by Sophia H. Stitch ~ I'm pleased to know this book documents the things no longer taught to the current caretakers of death.Their teachings are limited to only the care of the body ignoring the rich wealth once known about the cemetery and the interrelationship of the living and the dead.
Guest article by Jane Christmas

Woooooot! The long-awaited 2015 edition of “Ghost Hunting in Haunted Cemeteries” is now in Kindle, and it's a much bigger, more powerful book than ever before.

Sure, since the first edition came out in 2009, this has been the go-to book for anyone interested in haunted cemeteries. Ghost hunter Fiona Broome has been investigating haunted places for more than 20 years. She knows what she's talking about.

However, most ghost hunters only talk about haunted houses, eerie, too-quiet battlefields, and creepy, abandoned facilities like asylums and jails. They're overlooking important haunted sites in most communities: haunted cemeteries.

Fiona's book is vital reading, whether you're interested in a ghostly encounter for a “good scare,” for paranormal research, or -- perhaps most importantly -- as a spiritual calling to help trapped souls “cross over.”

“Ghost Hunting in Haunted Cemeteries” is a how-to guide. First, you'll learn about the different kinds of cemeteries, and which are most popular among ghost hunters and psychics with spiritual callings.

Did you know that, traditionally, a “graveyard” was connected with a church, but a “cemetery” has always been a public place of burial? In this book, you'll discover lots of facts, but also some fascinating trivia.

After learning how to find local haunted cemeteries, you'll learn what to look for when you visit them. Fiona explains how to identify haunted graves, and other areas in and near the cemetery where ghosts may linger.

Yes, the most haunted area at a cemetery might not be inside the cemetery at all. Learn where else to look -- and what to look out for -- if you want a memorable ghostly encounter. In photos, you'll see what may be lurking, just outside the cemetery walls. (Those can be the most tragic tales.)

Of course, not all ghost investigations are planned. Have you ever stumbled onto an unexpected cemetery and your “gut feeling” told you it was haunted? This book tells you what to do if you only have time for a brief visit, but you want to find the most anguished spirits and eeriest graves. (Here's one tip: Start at the most-used entrance to the cemetery. Then, start walking towards the back left corner of the cemetery. Along that route, you'll usually find at least one unsettling location where spirits may linger.)

Remember, not all graves are marked. Fiona describes what to look for to find “forgotten” graves and their displaced headstones.

Throughout this book, Fiona explains the ingredients that make many cemeteries haunted, and the power conflicts that trap some spirits due to their own misunderstandings... and sometimes their very real fears.

You'll discover the best steps to take -- in daylight and after dark -- to get the most from your ghost investigations. Fiona Broome shares her best tips from cemetery safety to research techniques, and from quick-start research to spiritual protection.
This is a really well-written book that gives lots of tips and information on the subject in question. If you plan to do this type of ghost-hunting, it's invaluable. ~ Review by S. Pearson

Excerpt ~ INTRO

The beautiful Beaumont House apartment complex was an old, well-maintained group of Tudor buildings on a large stretch of land. It was a sprawling apartment complex with jewel-colored, freshly-cut grass. There were old, tall shady trees interspersed within the landscape, making it look like a picture postcard.

Seasonal flowers were always planted in circles around the trees, in the pathways and around the perimeter of each of the Tudor buildings adding a touch of delicate color, like lace on a beautiful dress.

The grounds had small hills which looked beautiful all year round. In the winter the children would sled down them, screaming and laughing. The apartments themselves were well cared for inside and out, from top to bottom. Despite its age the apartment complex looked brand new. The Beaumont House was located in a sleepy suburb thirty-five minutes from the city. It was it an ideal place to live for those who worked in the city.

The first smaller building was the rental office. This was where people inquired about rentals or apartments to purchase. There was often a waiting list as the apartment complex was not only pleasing to the eye, but was one of the few pet-friendly apartments in the area.

There was an elderly gentleman who had worked in the rental office for many decades. There wasn’t a tenant who could recall a time when he was not there. He could remember the names and faces of the many people and families who had lived there throughout the decades as well as details about their lives. The old man was extremely thin and pale with a strange twinkle in his eye. What little white hair he had left was standing up in every direction. His suit was sharp and well-pressed but seemed to be from another century. The office had wall to wall bookshelves filled with mostly very old leather-bound books. The old man would often read, sit at his desk and look at his old-fashioned pocket watch.

Sometimes he looked out of the windows to watch the goings-on. People moving in or out, dogs being walked, children playing, residents sitting on their porches, driving to work, walking along the scenic paths and sitting under the large shady trees. The birds were singing, the neighbors were friendly and the lawns were always well-manicured. It was a very nice place to live. An ideal place, or so they thought.

Christmas Bizarre: Mina Kitchen Cozy Mystery #2

UK USA CDN AU

What a fun read! Christmas Bizarre offers a nice bit of mystery, a little romance and a crazy cast of characters. Mina Kitchen is a down-to-earth hero that faces some definitely bizarre obstacles in her life. Bonus - some tasty looking recipes are included! Review by Margaret Horner

Guest Article by Lizz Lund

"Christmas Bizarre" is Mystery #2 in the Mina Kitchen series. One apt reader review is, "Seinfeld + Catch 22 + Pink Panther." That, and being awarded a 5-star review from “Readers’ Favorite.”

Mina's just a typical out of work gal - constantly looking for a new job, and constantly cooking - it's her form of therapy. In her journey for full-time career, she takes on a lot of goofy part time jobs to makes ends meet. Unfortunately for Mina, these ends often involve a bunch of knots - with Mina getting caught in the middle. As well as bit on the neck by a geriatric vampire - with dentures.

Mina has 2 pets; a cockatiel, Marie, and a "mini mountain-lion" size tabby, Vinnie. Her neighbor, Vito Spaghetti has a spare key to her place, and is more of a roommate since he's at her home more than she is. But that's mostly because of his Swiffer addiction. That, and Vito Spaghetti's not his name at all...

Her Aunt Muriel's church buddies, the St. Bart's Episcopal crowd, add a nutty backdrop to an already simmering plot.

A good read, "Christmas Bizarre" will keep you smiling when you're not LOL-ing. Warning: if you're more into Proust than silly humor, go no further. However, if you've enjoy authors such as Janet Evanovich, Erma Bombeck or Marian Keys - this might just be your cup of tea.

His fearsome appearance

Aba_and_Shamana_29_May_2014

Review by George Lindon ~ A beautiful and original story about the power of friendship.

It was a moving allegory that highlights that there is no obstacle that is too great to overcome. I feel this is a story that people of all ages will enjoy as there are universal messages that teach us about the values of family, love and friendship.

Guest Article By Cynthia L Floriani

Aba and Shamana a tale of unstinting devotion, love and friendship

The story is set in a fictitious Middle Eastern region two thousand years ago. The tale begins with the arrival of a mysterious stranger to a goat herder’s campsite, who captivates a little girl named Alimud with a story about a giant donkey and the young girl who cared for him.

The story is ultimately one of Love and Friendship between an unusual giant donkey, named Aba that has supernatural abilities, and of Shamana the young girl who raises him after the death of his mother Jenna. Aba grows from a gangly foal to become a mammoth donkey that reaches over two meters in height. He is often regarded as a beast, but his fearsome appearance belies his true gentle, golden hearted nature.

Shamana herself is imbued with a Visionary gift which enables her to interpret through her vivid dreams other people’s destinies and fates.

The story interweaves the Christian holy family bringing them back to life again, by depicting them in what may have been typical daily life during those times. It highlights the importance and value of family being the cornerstone that strengthens the ties that bind each member within it to the other. The story brings together two families through unusual circumstances which over time forms the basis for their unbreakable bond to each other throughout their lives and shows that being a family does not necessarily require being blood related.

Aba and Shamana’s unique bond is tested by the arrival of Jesu who is much loved by them both. Over time Shamana becomes disturbed by her terrifying, ill-boding dreams surrounding Jesu’s future, so decides to entrust her beloved Aba to watch over and protect Jesu as he grows to manhood. However, this means Aba has to leave her to go and live in a distant part of the country.

When Aba fails to protect the one he loves, with tragic consequences he comes to face such heartbroken despair that he wanders the wilderness in search of Shamana. Aba knows that only his beloved Shamana, his surrogate mother can heal him.

At last, the tale once again returns to the young Alimud, who on receiving a gift from the nomad before he vanishes from the campsite, realises upon opening his gift the true meaning of the nomad’s tale about the golden hearted, gentle giant donkey, named Aba.

Those who tease his anger

Dog_World_ecover_temp

Guest Article by Jason McKinney

It’s their world now. By force of arms former US Army general Karl Vance, a werewolf with roots in the Black Death riddled days of the Dark Ages, has achieved the downfall of human civilization. Centuries of infiltrating the human race, and decades of building alliances within the worlds militaries, Vance has gained what he’s longed for; dominance over the world as homo-lycanus superior. But no absolute rule goes unchallenged.

Within his pack, lycanthropic lieutenants challenge him for their own territories, gambling that his resources and abilities are spread thin in his war against mankind. Those who tease his anger will learn quickly that what Vance has done to humans he will just as easily do to his own kind. Vance’s reach is exceeded only by his hatred of opposition. Humankind and their lycan allies continue to stand against Vance even though cities across the planet have been reduced to rubble thanks to Vance’s weapons and lycans of mass destruction.

Marine Corps Major Omi Kunpai and US Army Captain Paul Demarti are two survivors of the initial lycan attacks in Tikrit, Iraq. With them is Chief Warrant Officer Brenda Walinski, an Apache helicopter pilot who suffered head wounds leaving her with dissociative identity disorder that allows her to sense lycans, and Private First Class Gloria Zeller, a soldier that deserted after the attack on Forward Operating Base Ironjaw to wage a guerilla war against lycans.

They and other Iraq campaign survivors form the core of a group lead by US Army General Timothy Hughes, a one-time ally of Karl Vance. Hughes is like Vance; one of the world’s first lycans, but sympathetic to humans. Vance and Hughes split centuries earlier after Vance challenged Hughes to the role of alpha, and lost.

For Kunpai, Demarti, and the others there is no altruistic hope for reclaiming humanity’s greatness. It’s a dog’s world now, and it’s gone straight to hell. They just want to get a little payback.

Dog World: Gone to Hell is the second book in the Dog World Series.

Review by Cabin Goddess ~ Dog World - A Post-Apocalyptic Nightmare

When I first read the premise of this book my first thought was how can anyone find a way to tell us an original tale in a genre that is so inundated with books and movies every year? Well first time author, Jason McKinney has managed to do this and more. 'Dog World' starts off with a bang and never stops, not even at the end. Throw in a bit of karaoke and one mad 'man's' vision of a human in the freezer for all, and you will eat this book up!

Deep undercover in debauchery, Mortis and Synclair find themselves thrust into a realm of slavery where the flesh traders rule.

As Mortis peels back the layers of deceit in search of a killer, what he finds may prove fatal. Not only to himself, but to thousands of others, too.

Trials of Eden – Flesh Trade; is the first installment of The Mortis Chronicles series. Available on Amazon!

Hunters Creedsm

Book Two,

Hunters Creed,

is now available.

Excerpt from Trials of Eden – Flesh Trade

It was within the recently raided Ork town of New New Rockford, a mining town nestled deep in the southern mountain ranges of sector three, a heavily Ork populated sector used mainly for trade and PMC cadet survival training, that the protagonist Mortis could be found - an ancient pure-blood demon from one of the anarchy realms located somewhere between the seventh and ninth circles of hell from old Earth. By his very trait and trade he was unique, as was the path he had chosen to walk across Eden. He was a hunter of hunters. He was the one that was called in when a caravan had been ransacked or a village had been massacred to hunt down and eliminate the elite of human demon-hunters - men and women who received superior training and equipment to be used solely to kill all types of demons, freaks and supernaturals they could find. Mortis was the force that hunted them, that took the fight to them and cut them down when the Orks and other species failed. He was a champion to some and a sort of anti-hero to others. As with every service, there was a price tag - with every clip he slid into place, every round he racked into the chamber, every drop of blood spilled and every virgin saved. There was a price, a favour or a resource that would be asked for … no … expected. Nothing came free. As long as fair agreement was made at the start of each contract and upheld at the end, there would be no issue.

Book One – Tony

“All things truly wicked start from innocence.” – Ernest Hemingway

He first started visiting me when I was ten years old. He would come from under the bed in the middle of the night, wearing his black robe, his face always bright white, and his mouth was a black line. At first, I thought he was a figment of my imagination, because his appearance was blurry, like a picture submerged in water. He could have been the boogeyman, the devil, a ghost or a demon. I didn't know what he was or what he wanted.

Dead-Ringer

Guest Article by: Jim Yackel

Dead-Ringer
Prophetic dreams and visions? Dire warnings of imminent Biblical apocalypse? A musician named Jesse Same, who reluctantly impersonates Elvis Presley for his living, resides in the same small town that was the birthplace of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum. We all know that foolish flying monkeys were a part of the journey to the fictional Land of Oz, but could they also serve as legitimate real-life demonic apparitions? Jesse thinks so, as he sees them and things far more foreboding and relative to contemporary America, the world, the occult, secret societies, and the powers that be.  Would anyone - including a local church pastor - even believe him, or would they consider him absurd?

Jesse has grown weary of the Elvis gig and desires to do something new with his music career.  Likewise, he desires to have more time with his young son and that means wrestling him away from his manipulative and controlling ex-wife and her hard-driving new husband. They don't subscribe to Jesse's strong faith in Jesus and are troubled that the young son has developed his father's passionate love for the Lord. How far would the ex and her husband go to keep the young son from Jesse? Would the young boy put himself into great danger in order to be with his dad? Would Jesse ever learn who his own father is?  As this man who is a dead-ringer for the King of Rock-n-Roll dreams prophetic dreams, the supernatural creeps through the cracks in the walls that separate it from the natural realm as those who are bound to this world may soon witness the end of America and the world as they know it. Will the man's dreams and visions come to pass? Is there any hope for the nation and the individuals who appear in his dreams?

The relationship between the father and son will melt your heart. It's a book that simply won't disappoint. 'I was immediately pulled into this book.'
