Life's Little Book of Survival Quotes

Survival Quotes SM

Good for Whatever Aches ~ Review by Poesis - I never use quotes when speaking or in my writing. It's unoriginal. Stiil, I read them. They color a human being. They give him or her a flavor I can perceive. And mostly, it's a voice telling me something I sometimes desperately need to hear. This collection was gathered with loving hands.
Excerpt of Book Description:

A once confident, self-assured husband, father and businessman, his life was broken. He was left only with his faith in God, and the words of the authors he’d been encouraged by over the years.

Life’s Little Book of Survival Quotes was written for people who are experiencing similar struggles. Containing words of comfort, support and advice, it’s the constant companion that can lift your spirits and keep you hanging in there during your worst of times and even your best of times.

An abundant variety of the most inspirational quotes of all times is broken into categories to remind you that no matter how you’re feeling at the moment or what you’re going through, it WILL NOT last forever.

Each quote represents what many others like you have experienced and survived. And each chapter ends with valuable tips and survival stories of notable people that you’ll surely recognize.

Do you sometimes feel like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel?

Have the right words ever gotten you though a very tough day?

Would you like to have the perfect words at your fingertips for just about any occasion or frame of mind?

Do you want an extensive collection of quotes that are categorized into user-friendly sections?

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” ~Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Better to light a candle than curse the darkness.” ~Chinese Proverb

During times in your life when you’re plagued by worry, fear, disagreement, rejection, disappointment or uncertainty, Life’s Little Book of Survival Quotes is a powerful survival guide to help you reclaim your passion, your belief in possibilities, and your inner peace.
This is an absolute tour de force as far as useful, inspirational and motivational quotes are concerned. The author proves by example that when life's losses occur, everything can be taken away from you except your inner resolve. These quotes aren't merely fun to muse over (although they are that) but add up to a mindset of determination, and a personal philosophy that one can choose to persevere. Very well done! ~ Review by Wendy Goldstein Davis

27 Ways to Reinvent Yourself in the Workplace...

_REBOOTYOURCAREERCOVER

How do you know when you want to buy a book? Allow me to share my journey with Reboot Your Career. While watching the book trailer, I noticed an endorsement from one of my favourite authors - Brian Tracy,  author of Maximum Achievement.
This great book shows you a step-by-step program to make yourself more valuable, get paid more and promoted faster than any other job.
I heard a "ding" go off in my head. Strike One! Then my instincts told me to click on the video to take me to Peter Fogel's YouTube Channel.  I discovered he is a comedian and actor having been in or worked on such shows as  HBO’s Comedy Central, Caroline's Comedy Hour,  Comic Strip Live, and Married With Children. Strike Two!

Next, I decided I wanted to peek inside the book so I went to Amazon. I found out that I do indeed want to be a Superstar (and that is what my avatar says on my computer so it must be true) Also, this book is for bosses and I may need some other Superstars working for me soon.

Excerpt ~ Chapter One:Your Happiness is Your Job

"I am not the boss of my house, I don't know when I lost it. I don't know if I ever had it. But I have seen the boss's job and I do not want it." ~ Bill Cosby

Tell me if this is happening to you. You've been working in your job for a few years now. Like any relationship, in the beginning it was great. Your work was challenging and exciting.

You liked the people you worked with. Life was good. You felt fulfilled! (A la a preacher)

"Can you give me a hallelujah?"

Then, as I mentioned earlier, you started feeling like something was missing. Your job became mind-numbingly boring, and your coworkers constantly got on your nerves.

You started thinking to yourself, "I don't want to be a widget remover (or insert the name of your job description) for the rest of my life."

Perhaps you even started to wonder if you made the right decision by coming to this company.

You know what? That's okay. You see, our situations change, and the reasons we wanted something might not be as strong in hindsight as they were in the beginning.

Thankfully, there's something you can do about it.

Now, what I'm about to say just may get under your skin a little bit. I'm sorry, but it's necessary if we are to move forward.

It may sound crazy, but it's true. If our work helps define us - then happiness is your job. What an epiphany, huh? We can now release the balloons and fireworks!

Strike Three! Now you may be thinking I lost the game because the author won me over. Quite the contrary. It is a win-win. I hopped on back over to rebootyourcareernow.com because I could get $200.00 worth of bonuses and an autographed copy.

Note: There is an additional $4.00 shipping charge to Canada. $8.00 for International Orders.

Lola's Prayer Cocktail

Lola's Prayer Cocktail

“Sisters function as safety nets in a chaotic world simply by being there for each other.”
~ Carol Saline

The best way I can introduce this book is by giving you a glimpse into chapter one. I love quotes and stories and this book is real easy to get into.

Excerpt: Chapter 1 ~

What Do You Really Want? (Then ask!)

Dear Sister,

Not long ago my husband and I moved to California, leaving behind his family and two relatively well paying jobs. Whoop! Whoop! No, it was not for fortune and fame! When we got to California we felt freer than we had in a while, but reality soon set in. After 10-12 job interviews my husband was still no closer to the ideal job, which went along with the California fantasy. I had left behind the perfect school district and many friends in order to move to California, and although at least most of my family was now in California with me, I felt like I had literally let go of the countless years in school, boot-camp student-teaching and other career hurdles, when I left my dream job. But, I had to listen to my spirit, which was easy to do at that time, because I had practiced hearing from God. I knew what questions to ask, and how to decipher my own thoughts from His voice. A part of having a conversation with God is asking yourself beforehand what it is that you really want from Him.

“One cannot be prepared for something while secretly believing it will not happen.” ~Nelson Mandela

One cannot ask for something while secretly believing God is not able. Let me set the scene: You are a princess in a vast kingdom. Your father is a very well-respected and fair ruler of this vast kingdom…

Absolutely great! Lola's Prayer Cocktail has everything that I have been looking for and beyond. Though I can definitely say I could relate and connect to almost all of the material, the section that really stood out to me was Chapter 3: "Baggage- Get Rid of it!" I think sometimes it's easy to forget that mistakes can be learned from and that focusing on the future, instead of dwelling on the past, should always be practiced no matter what.

Stuff: A unique handmade book full of facts and quotes!

Stuff

What a unique idea! When I first saw this book, my very first thought was, "What a keepsake!" This book is for everyone! The author Morissa Schwartz has written a book unlike any other.

In her words: (Kindle pg 1)

My name is Morissa Schwartz, and I'm a nineteen year old college student with an addiction...to reading! Part of the reason for my affliction is due to my competitive nature.

You see my favorite historical US president, Theodore Roosevelt was an avid reader who read over 10,000 books in his lifetime. I am prepared to break that record. - 10,001 books is all I need.

That is how "Stuff" came about. I was reading so much that I decided to start journaling my favorite facts, line and quotes.

~ Review by Gupta V - Stuff is just what I needed!
I have spent the last few weeks working almost 14 hours a day and have been looking for something that would help me wind down - this book was it! The quotes were great, and the facts - well let me just say that I have added a new "fact" in my arsenal of friendly banter about slang. Usually, when I read, "illustrated", I think about your standard box illustrations but this book has so much more than that. What you get are art pieces between the pages. This is a great book I will be purchasing to give to family and friends.
Quotes from the book (Kindle pg 2)

"The Bible is the most shoplifted book in the US."

"Fifteen minutes of fame might be ephemeral, but five minutes of meaning are eternal." ~ Perry Marshall
