Expat
A story of redemption and renewal by way of Taipei ~ Review by MGoodwin
With frenetic Taiwan as the backdrop, this novel captures a relationship in decline, marred by uncertainty, loneliness, and suspicion. The expat lifestyle and its trappings--drivers, maids, banquet dinners--alienate Lace, the once doting wife, and push her in search of new relationships to fill the ebb of her own marriage. As the novel progresses, her own life begins to mirror that of a coterie of Expat friends, who share tales of infidelity and alcoholism over long lunches at the American Club, where grilled cheese is served alongside tears, angst, and longing for home. The story reaches a fever pitch when loss of friends, family, and love threatens everything Lace has. Highly recommend.

A little Siren
Sexy fairy tales for adults! ~ Review by K. Allen TOP 1000 REVIEWERBook Description:
The 2nd book to a great sexy series. This book can be a standalone but you get more out of it if you read the first. Very well written and filled with great scenes. Its a fun sexy twist on an adult fairy tale and is both creative and a blast to read. A real page turner and worth your time for sure. Highly recommended. Very sexy and great tension and suspense!
The King of Denkered has searched the seas for three years, in his quest to reach the mercreature who saved him from a ship wreck, but he gives up, tired of chasing a dream.
"One day. One day after he convinced himself to propose to an unsuitable, unrefined, unliked, conniving girl, he found the woman he'd been looking for."
Contrarily to what one would assume, Silvia isn't masochistic, so when they meet again, she has no intention to waste her time on the yummy piece of man she'd saved three years ago.
He may have been the object of every single one of her fantasies, but he's taken. Women who manage to get a man to forget his attachment get what they deserve: a cheating ass.
End of story, right?
----
A little Siren is the second book of Not Quite the Fairy Tale, and although they are standalones, they are meant to be read in order as the characters interact.
Beware of strong language and adult situations, although this is no non-stop erotica.
A little Siren was a great story, the second in the series ` Review by Romance LoverA little Siren was a great story, the second in the series. I was totally surprised multiple times. I love love love Seb and the part he plays. Eric really irritated me - in a good way - over and over, so much I wanted to climb into the story and knock some sense into him.
Silvia was a strong, courageous woman, I was in awe of her many times. She didn't take crap from anyone, even from Eric, the hot sexy man. Her attitude in the first book gave me pause, I wasn't sure I'd like her, but I actually liked this story even more than the last!
I loved to hate Vanessa, she was the perfect villain!
I also enjoyed catching up with Cinderella and Dane from the last book!
The end was great, well thought out and I can't wait until the next one.

Absolutely amazing! The story made me angry and sad and happy and I loved it! All the characters are flawed in their own way and I started off hating most of them; I love them now.

VIC: Time Doesn't Matter
VIC: Time Doesn't Matter
If you've ever found yourself wondering if perhaps you've had past lives, then this book should totally captivate your interest. In 1919, twenty-five year old Victoria Custer is a tough, brave young woman who is most certainly not content to behave according to the standards of her day. For over a decade she's experienced these dreams of a life from thousands and thousands of years ago, and eventually she comes to understand that the dreams are actually memories from a past life. While in Africa she sets out on a grand adventure to find her modern day counterpart, the reincarnation of Nu, her mate from prehistoric times.
The brilliance in here is the crafting of the two different lives, that of Victoria and that of Nat-ul. Nat-ul's story comes in dreams but it feels completely realistic, developed to the point it's basically its own story. The more you come to know Nat-ul, the more you understand who Victoria is as well. The writing is skillful and the blending of history, romance, adventure, and perhaps a bit of the paranormal if you consider past lives as such is richly done. Overall an excellent, fast paced, and highly creative story.
A mercilessly agonizing memory can sometimes break a person and render them incapable of facing even the commonplace without being unnerved. Sometimes it can endow a person with near super human ability to take action in any circumstance.
Vic’s memory from a thousand generations past has emboldened her with the daring and determination to embark on an epic quest that may last a lifetime and on any day could take her life. Yet she is prepared to challenge any peril and venture into any danger, known or unknown. She has learned from her mysterious avatar Nat-ul, even when you face the gravest of threats, you need not be brave, you just need to do what needs done, for whatever menace you face, no matter what seems to go wrong, “It’s not hard. It’s just living.”
You need not be brave, you just need to do what needs done…
While big game hunting in Africa Victoria Custer recalls another time she was here and something she lost. Now she wants it back. She begins her search in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula and takes brother Barney along and keeps him at his wits end wondering where she is and what he will tell their parents if he must return home alone.
In this first in the Vic series, meet Vic, a new female action hero from the 1920’s. From jungle adventure in Africa to more jungle adventure in the Yucatan, join this new heroine for non-stop excitement! And unless you were around in 1920 some of the accurate historical details will have you saying, “Wow, was it really like that?”
You can check it all out for yourself at Vic’s website with sources all listed and a link to her Pinterest boards. You'll like Vic. She's really nice, loves candy and is definitely a meat eater. She's in to fashion and collects cloches and barrettes. And she just happens to be a deadly expert with several weapons including prehistoric stone war ax and stone knife. And while she will readily cry at something sad or especially happy, don’t confuse emotion with weakness. Vic remembers a time and place that was stupendously savage and any moment might find you chomped and chewed and soaking in the digestive juices of some monstrous creature, so she will walk into things that make brave men cower and cry for their mother.

Struck
Review by Hristijan Zafirovski
I've been looking for a Greek myth book that actually stays true to Greek Mythology. It seems like everyone wants to be different and put a modern twist to it. I was really pleased with this one. I have never read anything written in modern times about mythology with this level of sophistication. There are references to popular Greek myths that’s really entertaining and some that I actually wasn’t all too familiar with so I learned something new. It’s all really subtle, it doesn't hit you over the head with history, but for those of us who love this stuff, I mean really want to escape into it, it adds a lot of texture and details. I really felt like I was there in ancient fantastical Greece with all their day to day concerns. I’m really looking forward to the next one. I really hope it doesn’t fizzle out like other trilogies seem to do recently. Great read! Very impressed so far.
Book Description:
He thought he knew everything about love, until she made him redefine it.
When Eros, the devil-may-care god of love is pricked by his own arrow, he falls for the most unsuitable of mates, a mortal woman he has been ordered to destroy.
Without knowing Eros’s true identity, spirited, intelligent Psyche shows the god just what it means to be on the receiving end of his arrows, with all its sweet pain and torment, and all its rapture. Eros soon discovers what love can mean to mortals, what it should mean to the gods, and that he could quite possibly be one of the most powerful beings in Olympus.
Not all the gods admire this young upstart’s newly discovered powers. The laws forbid their union, and Aphrodite, goddess of beauty and passion, is determined to see Psyche destroyed. Furthermore, the two must deal with their own doubts about themselves and each other which threaten their fragile relationship as much as Zeus’s wrath. Will Eros and Psyche become the canon of all that love has the potential to be, or will they follow a tragic path, with lessons learned too late to save them?
Based on the Greco-Roman myth of Eros and Psyche, the heart of ancient Greece is explored, where the world of imperfect gods and goddesses are fatefully intertwined with the humans they rule.

The Fantasy Maker (Adult Audience)
Sexy page turner with a mysterious twist ~ Review by Amy
This is not your run of the mill, bodice ripper romance novel. It’s so much more than that. It’s steamy and sexy and smart. I liked the way the author created the characters. You couldn’t help but relate to Emma. We’ve all been rejected in some way by someone we truly desire. But, the story isn’t just about Emma coming into her own (pun intended), there is a mystery to be solved while Emma’s marriage is being tossed about. The author did a great job building the world Emma lives in. You buy into her relationship with her husband, his political ambitions and how the other half lives.
Emma loves her husband and is excited by his political rise to mayor of their small town, but behind closed doors, she’s a frustrated young wife and mother, driven beyond her limits by her husband’s indifference to her needs. When a friend introduces her to a high-priced ‘members only’ club where the wives of the rich and powerful secretly visit, Emma finds an erotic world of mani-pedi’s, full-body massages and tantalizing pleasures limited only by her own inhibitions. No fantasy is denied, but what follows not only threatens to expose the existence of ‘The Ranch’ and its prominent members, but destroy her marriage and the career of one of the most promising young politicians in the state.
"Or I could give you a massage." Emma shook her head, still refusing to look up. "I'm not…" She stopped, unsure what it was she was about to say. "I'm married." "Most of our clients are," he said, moving up behind her. Emma shivered as she felt the heat of his closeness against the back of her neck. She closed her eyes, wondering how the hell she had gotten herself into this position. "I know what happens in there, with you."
There was amusement in Dante's voice when he said, "Do you?" She shivered again. So close. He was standing so close to her that she could feel the length of his body with every inch of her heated skin. She bit her lip. "Listen," he said, gently laying his hands on her upper arms, "we don't have to do anything you aren't comfortable with."
He squeezed gently. "I give a heck of a massage." Maybe it was the alcohol she had been drinking. Or the amazing facial she had just had. Or maybe it was the way her body responded so instantly to the simplest of touches. Was she that desperate for a little intimacy? But she nodded and let him lead her on….
The moment Dante's hands touched her, her heart leapt into her mouth. She bit her lip and tried to relax. Just a massage, she reminded herself again. But it didn't feel like just a massage. His hands were big and strong, but his touch was so gentle she could feel it like an ache between her thighs. He began with her shoulders, kneading the muscles until she slowly began to relax under his ministrations. Then he worked his way down, his fingers, palms, and knuckles working not just her muscles, but every nerve that jumped and popped under her skin.
She stiffened slightly as he reached her bottom, tugging at the towel he had laid across her waist. But he didn't move it, didn't try to reach underneath. Instead, he skipped down to her feet, working them almost roughly until she felt her nerves go numb with pleasure. Then her ankles, her calves, working each muscle group until they turned into something like mush. By the time he had worked his way back up to her thighs, begun to forget what it was she had been so worried about in the first place. A little tension came back into her shoulders when he asked her to roll over, but it quickly disappeared as he touched her again.
Again his touch was gentle, impersonal. Like any other massage she had ever had. He rubbed her temples until she thought she might drift off to sleep. He began to slip the mask from her face, but she grabbed his wrist, pulled his fingers away. Not yet. She wasn't ready to lose that little bit of distance. With the jasmine scented oil, he began working her shoulders, the muscles over her ribs, the joints and tendons along each of her arms and into her hands. She was almost looking forward to his touch when he moved to her hips, her thighs. Best massage ever. And then there was a change…..

Dragonfriend
Spectacular landscapes, amazingly graphic action scenes, gorgeous descriptions with plenty of detail... My absolute favourite scenes are the ones in which the differences in the world, habits, traditions and capabilities of humans and mythical creatures are displayed, with so much humour, insight and emotion, that a proper fantasy fan will relish in every discourse line and every thought shared telepathically between the characters. In this kind of a book, I like to be able to feel the story with all my senses, and the author writes using them - he shares the sounds and silence, the scents and touch, and shows you what he sees, so you can be immersed in reading, just the way a good movie will do, and even better. ~ Anita Kovacevic

The 'N' Word
Excerpt of Review by Cozimfree
In a very real moment in your mind, there should be little to no eye rolls or teeth gnashing from the cover of this book. You’ve seen it and in some instances lived it up close and personal. In an unrealistic world, you are offended, taken aback. The cover is far harsher than this beautiful story. But you should be curious. The words are abrasive and insensitive at times, but if you just hold on, stay the course. Open your mind and heart to “yeah I guess it’s possible.”
This book is timely. It is a work of fiction with well researched non-fiction facts and issues. Oh yes, before you think it, it is a Tiana Laveen book so she is going to “talk at length” about it. Some have other words for her technique. I call it getting it right. Making sure there are no questions. How you work out your life in the now. It’s not quick. That mess stays with you. You toss it about. It tosses you about. You talk then talk again. Then ruminate. If you don’t, guess what? It’s coming back like metastasized cancer. What you are seeing almost daily now on your social media timelines, news casts, blog posts, maybe even your own personal world has been brought forth for you to take a look at from the other side.
Book Blurb: They say there are two sides to a story. And two sides to every man… Aaron Pike is one of those men. Aaron is a white nationalist, a Commander in the organization and Nazi who grew up in Frisco City Alabama. He ends up in the prison system, serving a stint for beating a man nearly to death in what is perceived as a racially driven assault.
While serving his term, the recidivist Aaron believes as he's always done that he will serve his time and be right back out on the front lines of the movement. However, fate ushers him down a different path altogether…
Mia Armstrong is an elementary schoolteacher from a conservative, Christian background. She also volunteers at the prison, and is asked to help spread the word about a prison pen pal program. In that process, she runs into Aaron, and before long, the two hit it off. Only there is one problem… Mia Armstrong is African American. The two forge an alliance and that friendship flourishes into pure, unadulterated love.
How can Aaron force himself to hate a woman he adores and loves based on her race alone? Will Mia be able to stay by his side after discovering the darker edge of the man she’s fallen helplessly in love with?
