As to the book itself, hey, it's 1,364 pages of porcelain goodness. The selection of classics and "contemporary multicultural classics" is wildly idiosyncratic, but there's pretty much something for anyone. The business, personal effectiveness and health/diet sections are just bizarre. The biographies are pretty predictable.
This isn't like the later books that emphasize entertaining trivia. It's more like a mini Harvard Classics meets Reader's Digest, but sometimes that's just what you want. ~ Review by Pop Bop
